KB Meet 6th & 7th Dec 2008 (Part 2)
Good morning BZOCAs and readers. Heres part 2 of BZOCA's KB meet. After checking in to a local hotel, the 1st stop we all went to dinner at a cafe in KB. Good food, good friends and good scenery ;).
Second stop after dinner, had a sudden invite by a local Z (NoRuLeZ) owner for a bbq. Flooded her house with Zs and a few other awesome rides. Thank you for the invite and the warm welcome N.
Third stop, went to a local parking lot and took more pictures (area was not well lit) despite the short interuption (pajero joke).
Last and final stop, we moved to KB town carpark. Hanged out and made jokes till late. Here are some pics of the nite, enjoy....

KB Meet 6th & 7th Dec 2008 (Part 1)
Good morning BZOCAs and readers. Another successful meet well executed by BZOCA during last week's long weekend. Members coming from Bandar and Tutong cruised down to KB for the meet, an overnite stay and a bbq the next day.
BZOCA would like to extend a thank you for members who came, friends frm RX8 Club, Subaru Club and Brunei Drift and also especially to BZOCA members from KB for organising the event. There were other few activites during the meet so here are some pics to describe it... enjoy...

Do: Get to know your ride better

There are cases where we see horrific pictures of rides (dreams rides or similar rides as yourself) in a road accident. It may be caused by other cars on the road or worst by self accident.
Modders who are new to their ride, especially with high powered cars, should learn their rides more before opting to incerase its performance. Learn how to drive it first, discover its potential power, know its limits and faults. These can also be achieved by taking up advanced driving classes. The main point here is to know how to handle your car wisely on the roads and avoid road accidents.
Dont: Buy for the sake of buying
It is a known fact that any modifier can recall a time when the modifying itch has got the best of them. Saying "this mod will be the last one for this year" does not hold that long whenever they've received their paycheck (BZOCA true story). Bonus is coming soon for government servants here in Brunei :).
Bare in mind that impulse buys never stay on your car for long and soon you'll be selling it for half of what you paid for. Main point is to plan out your modifying list, set your own budget and finally to resist the urge to spend on parts that you dont need.

Building a show winner ride 101 (Part 2)
Good afernoon BZOCAs and readers. Heres part 2 of our last week's post on building a show winner ride 101.

Section F: Quality
Building a show car is all about quality. There is no point of having wild modifications or having well known aftermarket parts if it was poorly installed. Parts that you pay is inclusive with the cost of your ride therefore treat these parts as they came original with the ride in the first place.
Section G: Rims
It is a rule of thumb that rims can make or break a ride. Take for example, your stock rims are 18 inch, going for 21 inch may be innovative and has a "wow" factor, however this may compromise your ride quality and the overall look of a ride aka tractor looking ride. Therefore consult with your friends who have done rims upgrade or look through the internet and what type of look you want to go through.
Section H: Display
Displaying your ride is another important factor to draw crowds to your ride. For instance, having good ligthing to flaunt your build quality install and parts or putting mirros to show what your ride's undercarriage has there. Banners or past trophies may come in handy to attract spectators.
Section I: Cohesion
Lastly, your show theme must have certain ties together with the type of ride you have. Consistency and cohesion are very important for any judges, so make sure your ride works well as a total package. While mix and matching different styles will look good in your preference, it may go down the drain if it is not executed properly.
Thats all for now, these tips may or may not be helpful but one thing that must be there while your in a car show, have fun... Try to minggle with the spectators or even the competitors and you'll enjoy the show much more by meeting new faces and making new friends...

29th Nov 2008 meeting updates
Good morning BZOCAs and readers. Last week's BZOCA meeting was a success and was held in our very own member's cafe located in Kiulap. The main topic of discussion is BZOCA's final activity to cap off 2008, which has been spread out to members yesterday. So far 11 members are confirmed joining for it. Here are some pics during the meeting. BZOCA would like to extend our appreciation for the furthur discounts on the food and drinks from our member during the meeting. A cafe which BZOCA approves..!!

Deal on detailing
Dear BZOCAs,
We are currently trying to find out whether there is enough interest to organise a special deal with one of the Car Salons.
Our goal is to provide Z owners, old or new, with a discounted price on some of the services like wax and polish, car wash etc.
Just to give you an idea of how this could work, if a tub of car wax will cost $800, providing roughly 30 applications. Should 30 members purchase it, each member can have their car waxed once. If 15 members are interested, they can have their car waxed twice.
The cost of the wax is spread between however many members are interested. Labour charge will be negotiated with the car salon, as long as we have a decent number of members they may be willing to lower the charge.
For those worried about where the wax will be stored and how we can keep track of who has waxed their car already, we will negotiate with the car salon to keep track and store the wax for BZOCA.
